Fleming's Department Store - Retail Business in Monaghan, Monaghan

Fleming's Department Store is a third-generation, family-owned department store based in the heart of Monaghan, Ireland, trading continuously since 1949. What began as a single family's shop has grown, over three generations, into one of the last genuine family-run department stores in the region — a business built on personal relationships with customers rather than the anonymity of a big chain.

Today, Fleming's brings together a wide range of departments under one roof, so customers don't need to shop around town for everyday essentials. Our fashion department stocks trusted brands including White Stuff, Red Button, and Lighthouse, covering everyday knitwear, smart-casual staples, and genuine waterproof outerwear built for Irish weather, alongside fashion for men, women, and kids more broadly. Whether you're after a versatile blazer, a well-cut pair of jeans, or a proper coat that actually keeps the rain out, our fashion range is chosen with real Irish weather and everyday life in mind, not just passing trends.

Our home and garden department features quality outdoor furniture, including Hartman and rattan sets, giving customers a real range to furnish a patio or garden without compromising on style or durability. For growing families, our baby and nursery department covers essentials from car seats to everyday nursery items, chosen with genuine care for what new parents actually need, rather than simply stocking whatever is cheapest to source. And for younger customers, our toy department offers games and toys across a wide range of ages and interests, from well-known favourites to newer arrivals.

What sets Fleming's apart isn't just the range of products, but how we sell them. In-store, customers get genuinely personal service from a team that knows the shop and its stock — not scripted sales assistance, but real advice from people who care whether a product is actually right for you. We also offer gift wrapping in-store, a small but meaningful touch for anyone shopping for someone else, and it's the kind of detail that's easy to lose when a business gets too big to know its own customers.

For customers who prefer to shop from home, Fleming's offers the full range online with nationwide delivery across Ireland, as well as click & collect for anyone who'd rather order ahead and pick up locally. New customers can sign up to our newsletter for 10% off their first order, along with early access to new arrivals and seasonal sales, which we run regularly across the store rather than sticking to one fixed offer throughout the year.

Above all, Fleming's remains what it has always been: a genuine local business, run by a real family, proudly serving the Monaghan community for over 75 years. In a retail landscape increasingly dominated by large chains, Fleming's continues to offer something different — a place where the people serving you are genuinely invested in getting it right, because their name has been on the door since 1949.
